And Felicity breaks it down for us - she has trouble succeeding as a solo act. She's not a sidekick, per se, but she requires someone else to figure things out. By herself, she can do okay for herself, but she doesn't think things through and could screw things up more often than not. She needs that voice of sanity nearby to say things like, "Felicity, wear your seatbelt," or "Felicity, you can't defeat twenty-three ninjas in hand-to-hand combat."
