I think if you counted up the amount of times I use certain words in my comics (ignoring words like "the" or the names of characters), "sigh" would be at the top of the list. I mean, my characters sigh a LOT. Hell, in the first panel, Martina sighs IN HER BRAIN. I'd stop doing it so often except that it feels more realistic for me to note those sighs as part of their acting. Were it a book, I could just write "Martina leaned against the wall and sighed, longing for a lost love she'd never found to begin with." But since I can't do that, and since I can just throw in a sound effect for the sighing noise, you get the word "sigh" shoved onto the beginning and end of sentences in my word bubbles. I think we'll both learn to deal with it in time.
